Add this is History
Monday, April 19th, 2010
Until today I’d included the Add this Button on both this site and on my unofficial Vue News blog. Having looked at the usage I’ve taken it off this blog. Quite simply, despite having tried it in a few different places, it wasn’t being used. On Vue News it gets a low level steady stream of usage. Here it had 3 clicks in 12 months. So to slightly improve this sites performance Add this is now history.
Gzip Go Faster Stripes
Wednesday, April 14th, 2010
In an effort to make this site a bit more of a Quatro and less of an Austin 1100 I’ve painted gzip go faster striped down the side of all the html, css and js files it serves up tonight.
Downloads Fixed
Saturday, January 30th, 2010
My apologies to anyone who was trying to download anything directly from impworks. I managed to knock out the download handling so all the links were broken. It’s up and running again now.
Translate This Button
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010
I’ve just added a Translate. This button in about 5 minutes to the left hand menu. Looks to be a nice little JavaScript implementation of the Google translation service. I know there are WordPress plug-ins to do this but I’ve had mixed experience with those in the past so I’m going to try this one out for a while.
The Ghost of Moderation Present
Wednesday, December 9th, 2009
I’ve just cleaned up some random text spam messages that hit here earlier today. Nothing offensive or innapropriate but a waste of my time. To make my life easier (and stop anything bad getting through) I’ve tightened the moderation of comments on this blog up. If that puts the spammers off I’ll loosen the moderation rules again. I’ve also posted a page about my house rules for commenting here. Don’t worry we can all ignore it now it just gives me something to point to if the tumble weed stops blowing through my comments…
SLA Industry Pages are Back
Saturday, December 5th, 2009
In the dim and distant past (well circa 1996), when I had my first web site on mudhole, I had some pages about SLA Industries a British, dystopian, science fiction, table top role-playing game. Last night I revived some of those pages from back-ups. So for the first time in quite awhile (well probably 8 or 9 years) some of my completely unofficial, fan material is back. More to follow later.
Aeronef
Friday, November 13th, 2009
Tonight I’ve added a page to my web site about Wessex Games’ Aeronef - at the moment it is an article I wrote for Ragnarok War Kites and Flying Batteries.
Videos now on YouTube
Saturday, November 7th, 2009
Various test animations I’ve made are now on the impworks YouTube channel. I’ve been back to the posts they come from and added the embeded videos in. One day I may make a video that lasts a little bit longer than these tiny little things do.
Other People's Games
Saturday, October 31st, 2009
I’ve started adding stuff for other people’s games to impworks today. First up some stuff that was on my old Mudhole web site for Gomi Designs’ Abduction! Bits for Trash Tokyo; things for SLA Industries; odds and ends for 7th Sea; remnants of Ravenloft campaigns and well anything else I find sitting around looking like its worth sharing may well appear sooner or later.
