Less Memes More
November 21, 2007
I've decided to cut back on the number of Thursday Thirteen and Wordless Wednesday posts. Partly because I'm spending too much time on them each week, partly because I want to look around for some different memes to try and partly because I'm finding it harder to come up with good ideas for them each week. I hope that when I do take part I'll bring something to the table that is worth other people bothering to read.

Thirteen Things about Mark Caldwell Yesterday my Wordless Wednesday picture was of this vase full of nuts and I promised I'd post an explanation. I was walking in Newsham Park in Liverpool a year ago. As I went under a Horse Chestnut tree a gust of wind brought a liberal shower of Horse Chestnuts down on me. Fortunately it was a chilly day so I had a thick hat on. The one at the front is new and shows what they looked like when they fell on me. I don't know why but I collected them...

Soda Bread Pizza
September 7, 2007
Tonight I take my inpiration from darkdwarf's post Tuna Fish Pitta Bread Pizzas. I thought I'd share two versions of a quick Soda Bread pizza recipe. First up is the quick version from when I was a students... Take one soda farl and slice in two. Lightly toast the uncut sides under the grill. When golden brown remove from the grill. Spread the cut side with tomato puree (or tomato sauce if you don't have any tomator puree) and lazy garlic. Cover with grated cheese. Add any other toppings. Grill...

Thirteen Things about Mark Caldwell and a few of the excuses for why he may not have left a comment on your Thursday Thirteen/Wordless Wednesday after you left one here. Mostly intended as humerous but a couple are pet peeves that crept into the list. It's 3AM and I really need to go to bed. Doctor Who: The Sound of Drums
June 25, 2007
I was worried The Sound of Drums, part 2 of the 3 parter season finale, last Saturday would do what has happened in several of the recent two parters: lose all the momentum built up in the first half. Thankfully it didn't. Fingers crossed part three delivers a proper closing punch to the season and doesn't turn into a silly wimper or a bad special effects fest.

Thirteen Things about Mark Caldwell as though I was a character in a (badly written) detective story... He was tall, not too tall. Tall enough to have to duck through low doors. Tall enough to be asked to reach things down from high shelves. His gut had the the soft padding of years of pleasant eating and to much time working at the web face rather than the coal face. His hair was dark with a few blond strands and maybe the odd white one too. It varied in length from short to slightly...
