Read the Small Print

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

I had a little shopping trip today to pick up a few bits and pieces including a floor lamp with three little spot lamps. After a little self assembly following the instructions I plugged it in. Everything looked great till I started adjusting where the lamps pointed – the lights started dimming every time I […]

Doctor Who: The Stolen Earth

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

And just in case the banner isn’t big enought – tonights post may include spoilers about Doctor Who: The Stolen Earth if you have yet to see it. On a basic level I enjoyed it. It had good elements: lots of returning characters, a dramatic plot, several dramatic cliffhangers, a couple or three interesting guest […]

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Finally got to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I’m not going to over analyse the plot because its the same basic follow the MacGuffin of the previous three films. Its fun, its action packed and I got to play the game of trying to spot where they used Vue and […]

I hope Superlambbanana's Don't Fly

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

I’d planned to go for an early wander round Liverpool city centre today to take photos of as many of the Superlambbanana as I could before their hoards of screaming fans descend on them. It will have to wait for next weekend as I chickened out with the storm force winds…

A little routine Overhall

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

I’ve been busy on some routine back end improvements on the impworks site. The WWW equivalent of tuning a cars engine – in this case moving to a stricter version of html and making sure all the correct header strings are being sent to the browser that go with them.

You are Where?

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

On my way to work this morning there was a white van at a T-junction with two apparently lost men struggling with a map. On the side of the van there was a logo of a stylized globe beneath which was the company name: GPS Services.

The Inevitable Doctor Who Post Late

Monday, June 16th, 2008

I didn’t get round to posting about Saturday’s Doctor Who and with no connection last night I couldn’t do it then either. So here rather late are my brief thoughts on Midnight. Not a bad little story getting Donna out of the way was a good idea. It had an air of the cheap story […]

BT a bit brighter than Orange

Monday, June 16th, 2008

So we reach that time of year again when my Internet connection plays up and I get to complain… Except I don’t. Last night my connection vanished suddenly. This morning I checked the status from work and there was a message that a fault had been fixed however just coming online it wasn’t working. So […]
