Face Shop Pro – Just Not Ready for the Big Time

I’ve never returned a product to Daz before but Face Shop Pro just didn’t live up to the product description for me. I’ve given it quite a lot of time. I’ve read the manual. Repeatedly. The morphs were, saddly, either too uneven to be worth using or had strange bits that stuck out. A couple of times the object file it created didn’t seem to be any different from the original. The last straw was when it started crashing on the final step of the process. So I’ve deleted it from my PC and asked for a full refund under Daz’s 30 day money back guarantee.

I've not read the reviews on Renderosity. The report on the site mentioned above (in its technical description) is similar to what I remember of my experience with Face Shop Pro. I've had no contact that I know of with the creators of Face Shop Pro. If the updates have left the issues unresolved I'd say that was pretty sad. Personally I've no interest in trying t again to see if its still as broken as it was before.

I don't exactly know what to say.

There is an interesting thread over at the DAZ forums.

I just don't believe such programs are as good as the ads say.

To be fair to the makers I wrote this 13 months ago and I believe they've released several versions since then. They may well have sorted out a lot of the issues I had by now. I've no way of knowing and no intention of spending money a new version to find out.

Quite unfortunate for them that this post comes out so high on a search for Face Shop Pro on Google. If I'd tried to do that I'm sure it wouldn't have worked...

It seems to me there was a similar product years ago.. or is this just a new version of the same one?

There seems to be a very lively debate going on at the DAZ forums. I'm not sure I'd trust this guy or his product.

Ugh it's crashing non stop for me too! How irritating. I hate faulty products that aren't tested enough before being released.
