Fiddling with Vue Python

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Spent the evening playing round with some ideas I’d had for using Vue’s python. Nothing directly to show or share just some stuff that will hopefully be of use in the future.

Death Scene Monologue and Keats

Monday, October 30th, 2006

In the process of bumping off a minor character in the Fairy Tale Noir I decided he deserved a bit of a monologue before he goes. However he’s both a bit of a geek and has a bad habbit of wandering way off the point. So he wanders and I needed to do some research […]

Camera Phone Landscapes

A heron in the park on a misty morning as I walked to work. A sunset from the office window towards the Littlewoods Building.

Inevitable Torchwood Post

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Robin Hood men in Gap had me worried. I was concerned the creativity, box ticking types had taken over BBC’s new fun drama output. However I liked Torchwood. Epidsode Two may well mean it never gets a mainstream audience in some countries and it isn’t exactly a new idea although the little piles of ash […]

Characters on the Couch (Part 15)

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

This Follows on from: Characters on the Couch (Part 14). The first part can be found at: Characters on the Couch (Part 1). So why use Archetypes? They make characters memorable by […]

Weird Al's at it Again… Just Not Here

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

So no official release for Weird Al‘s Straight Outta Lynwood in the UK. I feel an Amazon order coming on. If you don’t have a clue what I’m talking about go to the web site and download new songs like “White & Nerdy”, “You’re Pitiful!” or “Don’t Download This Song”.

Never let you're Characters off the Leash

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

So I’ve been crafting the info dump in the Noir Fairy Tale. It was coming together pretty easily. The main character dumping info is a bit of a scatter brain. He keeps wandering off the point, shinning light into bits of the story he isn’t being asked about. Then out of nowhere he showed speaks […]

Too Info Dump or Not to Info Dump that is the question

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

I’ve been struggling to decide how to handle the next step in the Noir Fairy Tail. The main character has made a trip from China to Britain to enlist an experts help. I could have the expert mysterious solve the heroes problem so he can carry on with the action in what would be a […]

Robin Hood Just Not Right?

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

I can’t put my finger on it still but after 3 episodes of the new BBC Robin Hood I just don’t find it satisfying. Maybe it’s the anachronisms. Maybe it’s the desire to be modern and relevant to current events. Maybe I prefer my Robin to be a commoner rather than the Robin of Loxley […]
