Lunch Hijacked by an Idea

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

There I was eating my lunch at work and I get jumped by an idea. Wonderland, Narnia, Never Never Land and other children’s stories have a common trick in them. Children go to a fantasy world and then come back and no one notices they were missing because time works differently in the two worlds. What if it didn’t? What if time passes at the same rate? If it was a common occurrence there would be special police units devoted to the problem. If it only happens occasionally maybe the odd special detective agency will crop up to track down the missing children. Anyway to cut a long story short I had the opening thousand words of a noir detective story written by the end of my lunch working from that idea.

Just what I needed another new idea at the moment 😉
